Gumboots and Umbrellas Walk
I simply walked out of my driveway to see a swarm of happy walkers racing towards me.
I ran to the crossing praying not to get caught by them. I frantically pushed the button hoping that it would let me get across before I got caught. The green man flashed.
Yes, I had escaped.
Gumboots and Umbrellas day had arrived. Each and every class had been assigned a country to represent. Room 13 had been chosen to have Canada and Japan.
Trust me, Mr Gordon went over the moon when heard that he could wear Canada's colours!
When I went for a walk around the school, I saw so many people wearing their country colours and waving their flags.
Someone had even come up with a special dance to go with with their outfit.
In the end I think that Gumboots and Umbrellas day was a big success and it encouraged people to walk to school.

There I was standing there with a bunch of other people from school. They were wearing beautiful bright colours, wait there's more ,they had gumboots and had a umbrella.
Then I thought quietly to myself OH MY GOSH I forgot to bring my umbrella and gumboots.
When we all gathered to start walking I saw a lot of people in different colours representing countries.
I saw Tonga,USA, South Africa,Australia,New Zealand,England and other more.
When we started started walking I saw people wearing black gumboots that said All Blacks it was awesome.
When we were walking the line got bigger and bigger with people wearing colourful gumboots and beautiful umbrellas.
