Have you watched the NZ Olympic  hockey? Well we have and it was awesome. At the start it was a little boring but at the end NZ beat Australia in women's hockey which is weird because Australia usually beat us. The score was 1-0.  The men's black sticks came 9th and they beat Argentina 3-0 the Black Sticks used to be really good but now they are not as good as before. The women are playing for 3rd and 4th soon.  We hope they bring home the bronze.

Library Slogan Contest

Today we have been busy making slogans in Comic Life for signs to be used the new area for boys in library. I wonder who will win the contest? Here is one of our entries from Leo.

New All Blacks Symbol

Today we made a new All Blacks symbol. First we had to fold the paper into four, make four designs and then choose our best, but I ruled heaps of rectangles and did nine designs. My final one I thought was really good. After we did that we had to colour it in we were only allowed to use black and white but that was pretty easy. What I did was I incorperated the rugby ball into the A and B, put silver ferns on the rugby balls and a black line in the middle. The letters were black and the background white.

Samoa vs Fiji

Yay we're going to Samoa vs Fiji. When we left it took about 40 min to get there. When we got to the stadium it was so high. It looked like half of the Sky Tower. We started to go up the stairs it was was so high, I was holding the rail going step by step finally we got to the top. We were so high we could see the whole game. There was still half an hour until the game started so I had to resort to counting the number of people in the stadium 1 2 3...2408 2409... Yay! The game is starting. Samoa won the coin toss and decided to kick off. 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 Samoa kicked it with a huge boot. In the end Samoa won 27-7 when we left there was so much people traffic it took ten minutes to get out of the stadium alone, and it took an hour to drive home so I had to resort to counting cars on the way home.

Testing out our RICE Games

This afternoon some groups were able to test out their newly completed RICE board game and make note of things that need to be changed. After giving his game a trial run Leo stated that he discovered the instructions for his group's RICE game were not clear enough and they would have to change them a little.
