Yesterday Mr Gordon helped groups laminate the RICE board game and cards. We found it a fun and interesting process and the laminated work was warm when it came out of the machine. It also makes the design stand out and will protect the game!
Alicia enjoyed being able to play the game and test it for any problems after it was made. Rosa noted that on one part of their board game a player could become trapped if they kept picking up RICE cards that moved them ahead or back 3 places. The group will have to problem solve a solution to that one!
This afternoon some groups were able to test out their newly completed RICE board game and make note of things that need to be changed. After giving his game a trial run Leo stated that he discovered the instructions for his group's RICE game were not clear enough and they would have to change them a little.
This morning Bill and Sophie helped the class get tutpup accounts and enter our classroom code. This is a wonderful site and helps develop our numeracy and spelling skills. See the link on the side of the blog - Our Weblinks - to find the website.
Today was Mr Frear's last day until he comes back for his next practicum placement with us in June. You are welcome to come visit us anytime. Clearly, we like to have fun while we learn!
In Room 13 we have been working in groups designing and developing a RICE (Respect, Independence, Cooperation, Excellence)game that links with our school values. Students are excited and keen to share their game when completed with other classes and the principal.
We been learning about bio poems and have had fun creating and publishing them. We added a digital head shot to the top of our poem and funny arms and legs on the side and bottom.
